Found a Fuzz Face, no idea what its age or value is.

Post by FlyingVFanatic »

Right, there's this grey Fuzz Face pedal in a pawn shop where, i live... it says arbiter england on the front, and is pretty worn. Has serial number 0416 written on the back, and sticker saying the same.

Any ideas as to the age or actual value? Its being sold at £70 (about $112 apparently). Google isnt being much help...

Thanks :)

crest? no idea :/ found some stuff on google, which narrows it down to either late 60s or a nineties reissue... but nothing useful on the serial number or anything...

If you're lucky, it's a Crest. Most likley a Cornell though. Not a bad deal at that price esp if you can get him to come down some ... although the Cornells are generally not very good.
You should be able to flip it on fleabay for at least double the asking price though.
Can you snap even an outside pic? What are the knobs like?

Here's a pic of the Cornell

IIRC, the Cornell is also a little taller than a standard FF.
If it's got that sticker, chances are it's a Cornell.
I've seen those with the transistors inserted the wrong way, and they didn't seem to bias them very well either.
Might be worth sending to AnalogMan to have it brought up to spec.

I return, with a picture of the inner workings of it. Its got the ac 128 trannies, so i know its less desirable. Oh, and it doesnt work :P i had a lookand it seemed okay, no dodgy solder joints, but thats only with my minimal knowledge. Can anyone see a problem? And would it be worth trying to buy it as parts/project, for say, half the price they were asking?
