Had an epiphany today. The Pod HD500 fucking rocks as a stand-alone pedalboard! Seriously, when I A/B some of the effects with the real deal, it comes close enough and throw in the flexibility and ease of use and it's a great fx solution.
I like the octave and fuzz face effects as much as what my OctaFuzz provides, so when I actually get a board and case for this setup, I'll most likely replace the Octa with my Russian Muff. Something about the real Muff is still better for me. More vibe and gurgly fatness.
The univibe on the Pod is strangely better than my Microvibe. The Bogner XTC Red is my main dirt and the strymon and Dr. S will be in the loop of the Pod. Awesome tones so far with this setup! Now, can anyone recommend a cheap but durable board? I'm sick of the DIY boards. Maybe a Rondo music board?
