i want to change the bridge pickup to a Dimarzio Super Distortion
is this one from Ebay good?
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Dimarzio-Super-D ... 5899b5c2cb
i don't know what to check to make sure I've got the right one.
do i need F spaced? (what is that?)

and I'd also like to change the lipstick neck pickup for some sort of humbucker (i play real loud and could really use something to help with feedback). I'm not too fussy about what goes here, but something different from the super distortion would be neat, a blues pickup or something...
i was at the store and they sold me a Seymore Duncan Little '59, but this is a bridge pickup, so can I even use this???

F-spaced has the polepieces slightly wider apart from each other (given that the strings are a bit further from each other at the bridge end of things). You need F-spaced.

You also need a DiMarzio Tonezone. Output is hot enough to push stuff, but not crazy high. Silent as a silent thing when you're not playing. Heaps of character. Best pickup ever. If you like it you could also get the singlecoil sized version of the Tone Zone. If you wire it in parallel it sounds really nice and has more single coil character. I prefer the Tone Zone to the Super Dist, but that's also a really nice pickup responsible for some super classic tones.

Or get a DiMarzio Virtual Vintage Blues for the neck. It has relatively high output and balances pretty well with the Tone Zone in the bridge. It's also hum cancelling. I've actually got two down in the basement that I'm not using (gone from HSS to just single humbucker) - if you want I can send one or both over to you and if you like em you can keep em and if you don't you can send em back or sell them or something.

I know nothing about Seymor Duncans, sorry man.

Oh shit, the Virtual Vintage are regular single coils - you'd have to mangle the pick guard a bit and the cavity in the body to get them in. Dumb suggestion. Lipsticks... hmm... dunno... bust out the router and roll with regular single coils haha!

That Super Distortion will work in the Bridge.

If that were my guitar, I would do away with the middle pickup and route the neck (if it isn't already?) to fit a humbucker size pickup.
Then, I'd install a set of Guitar Fetish Mean 90's with 500k(vol.) and 250k(toan) pots and a normal 3 way Tele switch.
Don't let the price fool you on the Mean 90's. They are awesome sounding especially with lower tunings.
I've tried pickups 4X as expensive and I'd rather have the Mean 90's even at that price.

Even if you don't want to alter the routing for the HB sized neck PU it would be a good idea to use the Mean 90 in the bridge.

"F-Spaced" = "Fender spaced." the polepieces are arranged so they line up with the strings on Fenders, which have wider string placement than Gibson-types.

alternatively to MEC's thoughts, i'd put the P90 in the neck and the humbucker in the bridge. makes the neck PU less dull/boomy, which should be helpful with a baritone, and the bridge fatter. or if you're feeling adventurous, you could try the Duncan Alnico "Staple" PU, which was the precursor to the P90, in the neck. and then there's always Gretsch FilterTrons.

I too have a Telebri and am interested on how this plays out... So far I don't have any complaints but I'm not playin it hella loud and haven't gotten the feedback that oink was mentioning... I like the combo of the Tele pick-ups and the Humbucker though, you can get some real unique toanzzz... I have some Biltoft P90's in a single coil size that might work in the neck or middle, and I also have the Triplebucker from Tom's Marauder that would probably be cool on the bridge...

Anyway I'm watching this thread...
