My first Blackout pedal....

Post by Butch1970 »

...is en route.

I discovered BE pedals via this forum and EQD gear (of which I've amassed recently ). I was all set to get a Grand Orbiter, but after discovering the Whetstone.....you can guess the rest :) Will post my reaction shortly.

Just showed up....purchased new....but will have to wait until after a concert with my students to really try it out. Did not come with a printed set of directions so I guess I'll have to get into discovery mode this evening. Cool :)

It's the first one I got as well. I didn't think phase was useful until I got the Whetstone :) Now I'm holding out for the next run of VSTs...

ShikByrd actually said VST. Shik, if that's what you're after and NOT a SST, you can order a Twosome direct from Blackout with the VST switch as an option.

And yes, I know it's not QUITE the same thing as having a true VST...

Thanks guys! :D It was the SST that I had been waiting on. I'd seen the new green cases on the blog. I had just checked PGS the day before I posted... What timing! :D

Nice! You're gonna love it. I hat the Limited Dual Fuzz, then the VSTwosome, and now the SSTwosome. Although I loved all three, the SSTwosome if my favorite of the bunch.

It's front and center on my pedalboard, and one of my favorite dirt pedals ever.

I'm looking forward to it! I've been playing for sooo long and whenever I found a dirt box I liked I would stick with it for years at a time. Recently though, something's clicked and I realised that I've been missing out! This is the most exciting time there has ever been to buy pedals :)
I feel like I'm hijacking Butch's post, but I'm really interested to hear his thoughts on the Whetstone!

Oh yes, the hijack......now I'm interested in checking out a Blunderbuss or a Twosome. Thanks a lot

I recently picked up a Pharoah Fuzz and Dream Crusher (with some other fuzzes on hand) so I'm trying to find pedals that are different enough from one another that I can justify keeping them all.

Butch1970, if you're interested he has a PDF of the manual on the Blackout website.
