Quantum VS Baby Quasar
Anyone had any experience on both? Advantages on either one? How are these hold up against EQD Grand Orbiter (love the addition of swirly vibrato mode)? I'm looking for thick & really versatile phaser without overly complicated and too much clutter in a box. I had Faye sing couple months ago, and returned it.. not really that thick per se but has that nice 'vocal' like sound, kinda regret it but time to move on to new ones. If it could also be set to vibrato (pitch or vibe don't matter), that would be great.

there's been talk about phasers a lot lately it seems, those are the only 2 threads i could find to get you started
other than that i've never tried the quantum or baby quasar.

Re: Quantum VS Baby Quasar
Baby Quasar can DEFINITELY get "thick" and "vocal-y." I have one, and it's excellent on bass, since it has voice and frequency controls, which are awesome for targeting those "hard to phase" frequencies that get neglected by many otherwise excellent phasers.
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

Re: Quantum VS Baby Quasar
I had the quantum for a few months last early this year. It sounded so awesome! You could do so much with it. That was my only problem though. I didn't use all the features in a musical context (not saying that other people can't either, it was just me). But it was so fun to mess with. Never tried the baby quasar though but in videos, they sound pretty much the same. It's probably just a matter of features/capabilities.
If you're looking for something with some good vibrato, find a phaser with a mix knob or something similar. On the quasars, the voice knob at noon had some vibrato-y tones to it, and turning it left or right produced + or - regen. I'm pretty sure the baby quasar is the same. The EQD phaser's vibrato switch is just a kill dry switch. A phaser at or near 100% wet sounds real similar to pitch vibrato.
If you're just looking for a simple pitch vibrato, I can't recommend Malekko's enough. I've had it on my board for a few years now. Also, some choruses can get vibrato when 100% wet too.

The whetstone is worth checking out
The knobs and switches can be a little intimidating but once you mess around with it long enough it ain't no thang

I own a baby quasar, and couldn't recommend it more. Very versatile in terms of voicing it for different frequencies and whatnot but not at all intimidating to use, there's no settings that sound bad or anything. I don't know if 'thick' would be the word to describe it but it's definitely lush, if that makes any sense.
However if you're looking for something to with a mix knob for vibrato sounds or you wanna try using different waveforms it's definitely not cut out for that, never used a quantum so can't comment there.
