Recommend some interesting electronic music

Post by gunslinger_burrito »

I'm trying to get some influence from outside my box of typical listening. Throw some weird, crazy, essential, progressive electronic-y music at me. It's ok if it's poppy, as long as it's interesting and well done. Ok go. Thanks. :hello:

Also, our own Dr. Sherman Sticks runs digdugDIY, specializing in way-out electrofolkhiphoptronicalisms from beyond the stratosphere: http://digdugdiy.bandcamp.com/

oh yeah, if you want some weird stuff check out add n to (x). they were pretty amazing. if you haven't already, start off with avant hard. they were just experimental before that and got more polished after it.

Xenakis - Orient Occident is amazing.

Seconding Tangerine Dream Zeit, Phaedra and Atem are great.

Arne Norheim's Electric record is also great great electroacoustic stuff.

I personally wouldn't know where to start with them, but I know bigchiefbc is deep into Autechre, and they're definitely one of those groups I wish I knew more about.
