hello friends,
i'm trying to power my ad-80 (somehow got it on tgp for cheap hell yeah), and i'm broke ass broke. i found an old power supply at my work, i plugged it in and used the multimeter on it. said it was outputting 20v. however, the label says output: 12v, 350mA.
what's the story here? would any 12v supply read 20v? i recall reading somewhere that this may be the case, but it was tough to search for something like that. want to avoid buying more batteries. thanks in advance
found 12v power supply. good to use?

Yeah some supplies lie, especially those designed for office equipment etc and not specifically effects, you can use a regulator though, few bucks worth of parts.
Make sure it's the right polarity as well obviously.
Might wanna check the chips in the AD-80 too, think it came with ones that can take higher voltage (3005) and some that can't (3205).

It'll be unregulated, so the voltage will depend on how much current you're drawing. There might be 16V electrolytic caps as well which is another thing to worry about. I wouldn't use it, it'd be a bit risky unless you know for sure each component safe.
