Just caught one of the NIN shows last night and it was fucking awesome! Total sensory assault of lights, visuals and sounds. Not to mention some badass guitar playing by Robin Finck. He has such awesome tones and effects.
Which brings up a question, does anyone have any idea what sort of guitar rig they use live? The delay sound is badass and I'm just curious how they get such a wide variety of sounds live. You would need a rediculous amount of pedals.

Re: NIN tour
i love NIN but cannot stand robin finck. i don't even like looking at him and think his playing is mediocre at best. maybe trent is teaching him how get a good sound. i know that he had slash's guitar tech build his GNR rig for that tour. of coarse i'm also sure he's not using that one for NIN. i think GNR may even own his GNR rig.
anyway....i still love NIN.

Their light show is amazing, did they do the drum sequencer thing at the end?

Re: NIN tour
I was really considering trying to hit that show in SacTown.....but too many factors were against me.
But, I've been digging "The Slip"......and have since gone back and got "Year Zero" which I'm digging too.
The only time I saw NIN was on the Downward Spiral tour. So damn good.
Marilyn Manson opened up (before he was famous/infamous) and I remember him nearly getting booed off stage. Ha.

Health opened for them when I saw them this Halloween. The crowd was really bad for them, even though they were awesome.
It's like, geez... NIN's gonna play. Enjoy the opener, you fucks.

OMG! Fuck them, I would have gone just to see HEALTH. I only went to NIN to see Deerhunter open for them, but I got there late and I missed them
.
That was the first time I had heard health ever.
I was blown away, and actually pretty disappointed when they stopped playing.
But NIN was fucking amazing.
