Random Elements Question

Post by t-rey »

Currently ironing out the details of my rig overhaul which will have my Blackstar and boost pedals on one side and a clean amp (hopefully an Ampeg gvt15) on the other side with a shit load of fuzz pedals. Seems like an Elements is a necessity if I'm using pedal dirt, so hopefully I will pick one up pretty soon.

The question is this - can the Elements approximate modern Orange (Rocker/Rockerverb) high gain tones?

The elements can approximate anything?

Kinda what I assumed, but have been curious. I need to grab a white one before they are all snatched up.

I've owned a Rockerverb 50 and currently rock a new OR15 (based on the RV circuit despite the OR tag). The Elements covers that modern Orange high gain territory with ease plus a whole lot more. :thumb:

Right on, Shannon, I'm glad you could chime in here! I was gonna have to tell Trey, 'beats me'. The Elements covers a lot of ground but I can never really say if it covers certain amp tones as I just don't have the intimate experience with the amps... I'd really need to sit in front of an Orange and check it out to compare it with the Elements and even then it would totally depend on speakers and guitars etc to really know.

There's lots of white Elements left, Trey, don't worry! I've got amazingly good looking white blems too, lots of them, like 50 I could make... you'd never even see the blem I bet.

Thanks for chiming in, Ryan. Glad to hear there are plenty of white ones because I've really become infatuated with that finish. If things go my way I should be able to hit you up about a blem in the not too distant future :!!!:

Ryan, you should have some kinda challenge where people make videos in which they dial The Elements in to sound like particular amps.

Anytime, Trey, I'd love to send you an Elements!

I love the challenge idea, that would be really really cool... I can kind of get the Elements to sound like my Triple Rec, maybe I'll start off with that...

Also forgot to thank Shannon in that last post - who has been ultra nice answering a bunch of questions for me recently.

Triple Rec works for me. Going to use it to compliment the dirt of my Blackstar, so looking for something that has that really thick lower mid punch for the chugga chuggas.

The challenge sounds like a cool idea to me - you should start a thread for clips/videos. I bet you generate a ton of awesome clips of the Elements and generate even more interest in it that way!

I don't really think the Elements is a Triple Rec in a box kinda pedal, but it does super saturated high gain with lots of bass which is in the Triple Rec territory.

I need more amps that have noteworthy gain channels worth comparing to...

I definitely get what you mean. Not really looking for an amp in a box type of pedal, but Oranges and Rectos have that punch in the low mids I'm looking for.

And yes. We all need more awesome amps :animal:

You can set the mids to 400hz which is exactly the gut smashing low mid frequency. Boost it as much as you like :D
You can also set it to 800 which is more Marshall territory, or 1200 which is... um... a... mumblemumblemumble (?)

I like a lot of low mids in my high gain tones too... like Crowbar or Black Breath...

Sounds like a great challenge. Heck, I'd say matching it to other well known pedals could be cool, too. Hey Ryan, how about sharing your Triple Wreck setting? Hmm? Hmm?
