Octave Fuzz

Post by Jsteed »

Like a Superfuzz or Foxx Tone Machine with some EQD magic? I'd buy at least 3. Don't suppose I've missed something in the works?

I love my Bit Commander dearly, but it'd be cool to get something a bit less synthy...

If they could put one of their fuzzes + green ringer in a standard size box I would be happy with that.

He did a limited edition called the Fuzz Master General (based on the the Acetone FM-2) that is a sweet octave up fuzz:

Otherwise I think the Hoof Reaper is the only other option. Tone Reaper + octave up is the bomb.

Edit: of course the Bit Commander does octave up fuzz as well. -1 for my thread reading ability.

Jesus I did not need to see that.

Is there some comprehensive list somewheres of all Jaime's limited edition runs? I have a Zap Machine I'm awfully fond of.

Disco Freq has a list of pretty much all of the non-custom stuff he's done of the years: http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/earthquaker

The custom stuff includes things like the Custom Drive:

And the awesome Helicopter Party:

...anyone wanna sell me their Fuzz Master General?

And yup, I think I'd just slap that Helicopter Party on the ground and be done.

Question, looking at Bit Commander but also interested in the POG by Electro Harmonix. Opinions? Which is more versatile?

I think those two are pretty different. Bit Commander only does fuzzy octaves, while the POG is clean. I think a better comparison would be the POG and the Organizer, but I have played neither so can't really compare them.

POG is waaaay different. I've got both on my board because in my mind they do totally different things. Even a POG plus fuzz sounds very different to a Bit Commander.

Fuzz Master Generals pass through here every so often. Definitely a worthy pursuit. It's a great fuzz.
