Yeah, if the Malaysian scene is anything to go by, dem crusties love Kylesa.

Also: Nausea, Deviated Instinct, Extinction of Mankind, Axegrinder (very essential if you like Amebix), Prophecy of Doom, Hellshock, Sanctum, Stormcrow, Aus Rotten, Disrupt, Iskra.

Aus rotten, fleas and lice, destroy, doom, nausea,conflict,the pissed, vomit punx, civil disobedience, ds13, assrash, naked aggression,Quincy punks, dirt, skit system, his hero is gone, tragedy,union of Uranus I could go on and on

What is this crust stuff? I've seen it like three times today and I've never heard of it.

Crust is a bastard child of punk & metal, typically with a political bent (at least, when you're talkin' old-skool crust), and often some trippy/psych elements thrown in. Back before we had stuff like Black Metal, Crust also took inspiration from industrial and proto-industrial groups (such as Killing Joke). Now that we've got one big family of "Extreme Metal" with Black Metal & Death Metal, Crust bands also assimilate elements of those other genre/threads.

Yeah, I listened to some of it. I'm not much of a metal guy but the Kylesa stuff sounds pretty cool. I like the drums a lot.

No prob, man! It's not everyone's cup of tea, but then, nothing is!

And Kylesa actually has TWO drummers! They have since about 2006. So... yeah. Definitely some drummin' goin' on there.

i never knew kylesa was considered crust, i love them to bits.

really digging on dystopia and his hero is gone...will check out axegrinder now. gonna be starting a blackened crust project with a buddy of mine now because of all this.

also, i cite gallhammer for my recent fascination with all this.

Yeah, it's not clear to me whether Kylesa are really ARE Crust, or if they're just loved by lots of Crusties. Either way, I digs 'em. Speaking of which, did you see the news of their upcoming odds & sods collection? http://loudwire.com/kylesa-from-the-vau ... e-premiere
