This. 2/3rd's of the bands on their label I listen to almost on a daily basis. For the last 4 or so years a good half of my new music has come from either them or Sargent House.

But seriously, Hydra Head, you will be truly missed.

If I had the means, I would help make this happen! I'm sure a lot of the bands that are still active will continue releasing stuff somehow. I just saw Old Man Gloom play and reading this was a serious bummer. It's also incentive to go out of my way to support labels more, and more often!

Honestly its about time.... I loved 2003 as much as anyone else but all the amazing bands from that time period are dead and gone. Bye. Has anything come along to take its place? I guess theres doom....but honestly...fuck doom. Its this generations grunge. Everyones the same and the entire thing is one big circle jerk, Its cool that youre into being loud and shit but honestly the whole thing smells like poseur to me. People never used to give a shit about vinyl or how limited your new patch was or whether or not atilla csihar sung on anything. I would trade the entire recorded output of fucking earth or chelsea wolfe of jeff the brotherhood from now until the end of time for just one more hot cross album or the locust OR FOR BLOOD BROTHERS, REMEMBER THEM DUDES? I remember seeing the last das oath tour (which also turned out to be the last hot cross tour) and the last CURSED tour.....and the last daughters tour. It was in like what 2006? It was so desperate....it was so perfect. It was a death rattle. Nobody gave a fuck about what their music was presssed on, nobody dared sell a shirt for more than ten bucks, nobody gave a FLYING FUCK about weed.
