Track two - The Pacifier Crashes

Track three - Director Denial

Track four - RESURRECT DEAD. ON PLANET JUPITER

Track five - What Doesn't Kill me (Only puts me in a Coma)
[soundcloud]http://soundcloud.com/badapes/what-doesnt-kill-me-only[/soundcloud]
I've been busy with the guys in my band working on this EP over the past week or so.
It kinda sounds like if you locked My Bloody Valentine in a cage, fed them a diet of blood and poked at them through the bars for a while... or at least that's what we hope.
It's fuzzy, wooshy and shouty at any rate.
If you like it, clicken here for our Bandcamp, and here for our Facebook page.
Comments, criticisms, compliment, cake - it's all welcome. I'd just love to hear your thoughts!

Cheers guys! Resurrect Dead is one I'm pretty proud of. It's just one guitar and one take. Nothing else.

Well you guys just eliminated all of my qualms with 99% of shoegaze - that was abso-fucking-lutely one of the coolest things I've heard here.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not gonna lie or try to play it cool, I'm properly chuffed that the tunes have got this kind of reception.
The rest of the guys are already bugging me about starting work on a full-length.
alexa., acquaint yourself with the Korg AX1-G. It's a terrible, terrible pedal multi-FX for dirt, delay and that kinda thing, but it has this weird drone feature (the 'synth' noise/note in Resurrect Dead) and a pretty good ring mod. They're only about 20 quid on eBay, well worth a buy.
skullservant; I can only assume you've actually been destroyed... which I'll take as a compliment.
andtheLiquidmen; that is the best compliment I've heard so far. It's pretty much exactly what we were trying to do with this EP. Really glad you like it!
Also, just throwing this out there, if anyone does proper reviews - or has friends who do reviews, could you point them in this direction? We'd love to have some proper words to post about the EP.

Fucking amazing work here. This is right up my alley. I've been planning on making my first foray into recording with some songs I've been jamming on and this 'nowavegaze' sorta thing is pretty much what I'm going for. What did you guys use for pedals/amps/recording gear if you don't mind sharing? It has that great DIY sort of vibe that makes it sound like a perfectly mixed live performance.

Thanks man! Our whole aim was to really see if you could make a genre that's meant to be quite gentle vocally and structurally into something with a bit more fire. I think there's something about being working class from the Midlands in the UK that means you can't play cheerful music (if you live in Walsall, you'd understand why!).
As far as recording goes, we did a live take to get the drums down, then re-recorded bass/guitar/vox over the top to keep things sounding organic. Our bassist used a standard Bass Muff and a Blue Box going into some strange Peavey keyboard amp they had at the studio as well as a DI line into the desk.
My guitar was, for the most part, three stereo tracks at most, and effectswise, most of it is Timeline with either a Meathead, Octave Clang or Rat going into it. One track with each dirt for a good bit of texture, with the Rat not going through the delay to retain some sort of attack and clarity. Ampwise, I was using a Red Knob Twin with original speakers going through the clean channel. Any weird sounds are probably my feedback loop or a Korg AX1-G.
Recording gear, I'm not too sure about. We did it at an arts centre in our hometown and we were pretty much left to our own devices with the engineer there. The desk was massive, I know that much, and we recorded in pro-tools, but other than that, I'm not sure.
Make sure to post up your tunes once you've done, I think angry shoegaze should be a thing now!

This reminds me of this spontaneous Cd purchase I made of a band called "Spacehorse". Only this leads more towards shoegaze than punk. I like this music greatly.
and I think my girlfriend will love it too. DOWNLOADING ALL OF IT.
