TAFM or Bass Blooooooom!

Post by fungalattack »

Hello, yall. I really was opposed to making this topic but my bass player insisted even after telling him to just make an account and post himself and telling him my answer. I know this thread is a bit sketch but he kept pestering me so to quiet his demons ...... He just wants oooooonnnne fuzz pedal and he wants a clean blend with a slight film of fuzz on top of it. He is stuck between the TAFM and the bass blooooom. and I keep telling him just get the TAFM and you wont be disappointed. We are playing downtuned sludge, doom, droning-ness. Any input from owners of either to give him so peace of mind? Thaaaaanks duderz!

Yep can't go wrong there... I just got the TAFM yesterday and was comparing it to the Bass Bloom today... I get get both to sound almost the same but it seems the TAFM is a lil wilder and the Bloom is more focused and tight??? I say both and see how long it takes till he wants to keep em...

don't forget there's a little bit of ss/BS in the Bloom.
But I can't help your friend, I never tried any of those.

But yeah... should get both and stack them.

Here's what I would do if I were me:
Order Bass Bloom from Prymaxe and if it don't jive, send it back and get the TAFM. :thumb:

I've only got experience with a TAFM and regular bloom, never tried the bass one, but they're both really good! I think maybe the TAFM is a little more angry and intense, but maybe that's just how I hear it. :idk: Whichever he picks, I can't see him being disappointed, anyway.

I keep telling him to get both and if were me I would get the tafm. But I keep telling him whatever he gets, he will not be disappointed! Thanks for the input, it is helping his mind settle and his anxiety to drown away to fuzz

Here's what you do: Get a TAFM, get a Bass Bloom, cut out pieces from both, make Frankenstein pedal.

Team Bass Fuzz Bloom, anyone? Or maybe Bass Awesome Bloom Machine? Really, you can't go wrong.

Same here. For my personal tastes, the TAFM was just too much. Great sounds, couldn't rein it in to where I wanted it, whereas the Algal Bloom I had (which is bass friendly in its own right) was very easy to get to sound like I wanted. Used it for a number of gigs.
