RRR - Undisputed master of space?

Post by askashrub »

Hey guys,

I've been "researching" guitar pedals around here for a couple months now, signed up yesterday in order to buy a singing tree :!!!:
Anyway, now that I'm here, let's talk about stuff.

I am systematically replacing my crummier pedals, and I'm left with reverb and delay.
I have been using a Line 6 verbzilla.

It seems like the mini rrr is the way to go, but I wanted to know if anybody prefers anything else, and why.
Reverb is more important to my sound than anything else, so...you know

Thanks!

I will never, ever sell my RRR. In fact tomorrow I am going to be trying it BEFORE my dirt pedals (see thread in Dr Sci forum).

It is a magical sounding pedal, even through shitty broken solid state amps, as well as obviously all-tube pants-creamer amps. Plus true-bypass, clickless switching? Yes please.

HOWEVER

It doesn't do 'shimmer' (the octave-up thing that the Line 6 does), so if that setting is important to you, you may want to keep your Verbzilla as well. :)
Good deals with: PumpkinPieces, maz91379, allicio, nelsinian, tomlane95, casperh7, insubordination, bronzetalon

How do you use reverb in your playing?

I would venture to say that space is the master of space.

SPACCCCCCEEEEEERIIIIIIITTTTTUUUUUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

so mr. shrub, reverb certainly isn't my strong point, but I would ask: What setting do you use on the verbzilla mostly? Room/hall, spring, shimmer, or something else? There are many different "flavors" of reverb and personally, I'd rather find one pedal that does exactly what I want well rather than something that models 11 different things decently. But that's my general attitude towards gear.

I guess my point is that before it can be decent it has to be "right" for his needs, if that makes sense.

I generally live in the hall setting, and I completely agree that I like my pedals as simple and functional as possible.

This is part of the process I have been going through: Getting rid of my toys and acquiring tools.

I don't need or use the shimmer on my line 6, I just like to pretend I'm in a bigass room.

The RRR is perfect for putting your tone in a big ass room.

RRR is truly awesome sounding. I haven't heard a setting I didn't like on both guitar and bass.

Top notch pedal FO SHO
