Heavy Electronics Saturn Ring Mod
Yes, I know, the Randy's Revenge is PROBABLY worth the extra money. But I don't have money for either right now, so I was curious...
Has anyone had a chance to check one of these out?
http://www.heavyelectronics.com/SA.html
Took note of it awhile back, and just looked again, and there are no demos, very little info aside from basic product info out there. Nothing on any forums or anything.
So, anyone played one? Thoughts?

Never played one.
I do have a thought: Save you money. Get a Randy's Revenge. You wont be disappointed.

I've been eyeing off this pedal for ages, but when a manufacturer can't organise a demo it doesn't bode well. There are too many awesome pedals out there to burn money on something that may or may not be good. So ah... someone else (Ex - looking at you) go and buy one.

It's a Lone Ranger and Tonto reference.... and OLLDDD joke:
The Lone Ranger and Tonto are riding full gallop to escape from a group of enraged Indians.
They make a mistake, and turn into a canyon.
They reach the end. Behind them are Indians, in front of them are Indians, on either side of the canyon, Indians. The Lone Ranger turns to Tonto:
Lone Ranger: Well, my friend, it looks like we may have met our end.
Tonto: ... "What this we shit, white man"

Re: Heavy Electronics Saturn Ring Mod
i had one of these for a few weeks. pretty decent ring mod but the internal oscialltor is loud when the effect is on. when you cut it off it's totally gone but once you stomp it you get this constant "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee" this isn't unusual even for great ring mod pedlas but it is considerably louder than many. it also doesn't go low enough to do tremolo which was another drawback. it is built very well and if i didn't have a frostwave blue ringer already i would have probably kept it. i suspect the HE folks aren't posting a demo until it has ironed out some of the kinks..maybe? i will say it does sound really good with a guitar and bass if it were gated it would be better, but the osc is so loud i imagine it would be hard to gate effectively.
the gain/fuzz control on it was a little anemic but a good idea. if it got a little hotter and worked as a nasty ring mod/fuzz (ala DOD Gongunkulator) it would be a monster.
