Noise from AMP and Guitar

Post by hazelwould »

Couple of things... My guitar knob crackles on the volume when I use it. And sometimes I get some grounding noise with the strings. Could it just be an old pot?

Secondly, based on how loud I play my amp will crackle. I'm not sure if it's a tube or not. It's only when it's really loud and mid rangey. Tube issue?

I need to get this noise straightened out.

Thanks for the help. :hello:

For the pot, first try just turning it all the way up and down rapidly a lot of times. That could break up whatever grime is making it crackle. If that doesn't work, get some Caig Deoxit, open the back up, spray a LITTLE BIT inside the pot, then repeat the turns again.
