I agree with Aen, sorry. I played one a long time ago and didn't think it was any better then a 90's dano.

they're more stable and useable than the regular Danos, but IMO not worth the insane price differential.

Yeah, but it doesn't much matter now that they're out of production.

Sigh. I deeply regret selling my Hamer 12-string. And not buying the 8-string 1974 Hagström once in my use in one studio sessions.

BASS GAS #2

I need another bass vi tuned bass to back up the Gretsch Jet Baritone, when stage show inspires me to hit the chords hard enough to brake the strings. That Schecter looks HOT!

And Rick, well, the other bass player in band has TWO rare ones: the Blackstar and a Porsche red.   :picard: Just think what that does to a man with some serious gas for a Rickenbacker already. But I'm afraid I have to settle for my ever-in-process Gretsch'nbacker build project for now.

You give me GAS
How is this Hagstrom called? I want it bad, it looks a bit like the HB 8-string they now have in production, although this is much prettier!

It's simply Hagstrom 8 String Bass. Sometimes You can see it titled Hagströlm HB-8 but I think that's an anacronism.

The new on is based on this. Well, mostly on the original idea and the fame. The fine tuning and intonation is still not quite there, but with an 8-stringer You end up loving it that way no matter what. The electronics in the new one are... cheap crap that sounds crap, too, okay at best. Whereas the 40 years old, aged pups...

Prices have gone way up, though. Like, WAY up. The cheapest I have seen - adn almost pulled the trigger - in the past two or three years cost some 1200.00 $US

Then there are these guys who want YOur arm and a leg

wow that link, that is really overpriced, I will keep my eyes open for one in the Netherlands, would be an ideal bass for a 2 man bass and drum band I am thinking about lately..

:hello: been doing that since the 90's, PM and TELL ME ALL ABOUT YOUR PROJECT. :thumb:

and yeah, people have apparently high hopes a rich sonofabitch collector decides to buy HIS bass, and changes the first digit 1 into something else. Because they've got so much money, but failing to recognize it's perhaps not really worth that mad money. :whateva:
