at 1:10 you hear the fuzzy octave-down bass kick in -- what pedal/combo would best approximate that sound? I dunno anything about octave pedals.
When I saw them live, the bass player would noodle around on a synth sometimes, but during this song he was definitely playing bass only. And his playing didn't seem to go this low at any other point in the show, so that's what lead me to believe he's using an effect to get it.

Oh! Hooray for Earth! I saw them when they came through here with Cymbals Eat Guitars, and talked to the bassist after their set. He's using a Micro POG with only Octave down and blend for his octaveing, and his fuzz was...Either a DBA Fuzz War or a Supersonic Fuzz Gun, and I can't remember which. I think it was the Fuzz War.

Thank you for showing me this album!!!!
The glitch computer may suit you pretty well, I cant be certain though because ive only heard it on guitar. Maybe a blue box waswith the output cap mod and a fuzz of your liking? or scrap the stacking dirt idea and go with a pog and fuzz :idk:

Ahh cool. Thanks for the info, I didn't expect to get such a straight answer. I saw 'em with CEG in DC. They seemed like cool guys but since I couldn't hear anything afterward, the conversation we tried having was painfully awkward

np :thumb: Didn't even consider the blue box...wonder how that would do on bass.

Yeah, my wife wasn't too wild about the volume, just because she didn't have earplugs. I really dug their stuff, but I always wear plugs at shows. /shrug
