Headphone recommendations

I am in G.A.S. recovery but I do need a set of headphones for home recordings.
I'd like to stay under $100 but if I'm going to be miserable I can go higher.
I am looking for reference type bass boost doesn't help cause then I would make poor mike adjustments.
I've googled I just want people's hand's on experience.

I have to agree with the Sennheiser HD280's, I've had a set for about six months and I love them.

As flat as I've found (isn't it funny in music that in some situations, something being called 'flat' is considered good, and at other times bad), I'll be buying a second set for when other musos are recording with me.

So after reading these links I decided to double check a broken pair of headphones I have stored away.
They are a pair of ATH-m40fs And when I looked up info on them they seem at a glance similar to the ATH-m45's
And then I found this:

The “fs” in ATH-M40fs stands for “field serviceable,” because you can easily replace their sturdy 11” strain-relief cable, drivers, or plush ear cup padding if you somehow damage them.

I may be a few parts away from success! (depending on how much parts cost)

I have some of those, and have used them for at least three hours every week for the last three years.

I think prices for repair parts are reasonable. Back in September, they told me that replacement earpads are $7.16 + shipping. Not bad. I really need to order some-- mine have started to shred.
