I like you, cheesecats

Yeah, early 70's prog is what I first got into (in the mid 00's). ELP, Yes, Pink Floyd (borderline prog :idk: ). NOT Rush. Fuck them.

80's, Sony Walkman, lawing the mawn for weekly allowance. Motörhead, Venom and Metallica. The prog and hippie stuff couldn't compete with the lawn mower engine.

This, when I was nine or ten. On some mix in my parents car.

I'd had a walkman for a while, I listened to (and still listen) to Michael Jackson, a tape I had of some Sean Nós, and Prince beforehand, but no concrete, vivid memories of anything before this.

To a point where I'd never looked up the song outside of that mix, or even tried to find out who it was, and was aware of that for ages. Loved that song though. The hook was always in my head, and I googled it fifteen years later, to show my friend, who'd also never heard of it, but wanted to know what I considered the most memorable chorus ever.

Edit: Actually looking into Tears for Fears now. They wrote loads of songs I kinda liked at some point. Weird. Tears for Fears have been shadowing me for my entire life, failing to get me to appreciate them. I'm sorry Tears for Fears.
I play.

My mom wouldn't let me go to the concert because it was raining. For some reason she was being nice, and instead I got my first CD/CD player/ headphones.

Before that it was all tapes and ghetto blasters.
