looking for the ultimate wah

Post by zafreth »

Hello i was wondering about the wah effects and i would like your opinion.

I have a standard Cry Baby Dunlop, a Fender Fuzz Wah and a Morley Classic Wah, i' ve tested the three and i'm pleased with them, but i want a Vox 845/847 wah and a Cry Baby Slash Wah, my question is Do they worth of buying although i have already three?

Thanks.

What do you not like about your current three wahs that you expect the the two potential new wahs to do?

it's not if i like them or not it's more that if those wah (the Vox and the Slash) are better for playing classic rock, and progressive rock, that is my style to play, thanks

Those three are essentially the same thing with a couple of tweaks here and there. If you want the ultimate wah, you'd be better off ditching all of those and buying a vintage Vox or getting a Teese RMC for a fraction of the cost. Much better.
Or for something different, the old Maestro Boomerang is awesome as is the Colorsound wah.

Not to be all cork sniffery but most of those modern production dunlop/vox wahs really are garbage...

I would take a look into a Wilson Wah...dude knows his wah. A lot of his pedals are modern takes on classic wahs, at a fraction of what they would normally cost.
The freaker and colorful clone are

Teese is also pretty awesome. I had a wizard wah that got on well with medium/high gain sounds.

Hellz yeah, Wilson really does some great wahs. Most of them are based on classic wahs, but with more control and better build quality. I love my Freaker (Tycobrahe Parapedal clone) to death.

I picked up the Freaker on the recommendation of the two mighty men above, and thought it took me a while to tame it, I truly love it now. Great price and lovely man to boot.

In fact, folks, I have some Wilson Freaker related questions, in fact, if no one minds a PM/me posting regarding it here.
I play.

I'm happy with my MXR/CAE MC404, but Wilsons are said to be like the swiss knife of wahs

My guitar player got a Wilson on BigChiefBC's recommendation, and I can testify that it's the best wah I've ever heard. Definitely talk to Wilson.

This is true, but modern vox wahs are still 10x better than dunlops.
