Mustang 65 reissue
Saw a Mustang 65 reissue in my area going for a good price. Owner says they replaced the original pickups with Duncan Performs, which sounded odd to me. Also it is Olympic White with a tortoise black pick-guard, looks smooth as fug. Need some advice.

Agreed and planning to do so. The asking price is so low I feel like I am missing something, like the quality of the reissues in the 90's are less than they are now.

I think quality varies not only from era to era, but from instrument to instrument. The only way to tell if it's a good one is to play it.

Re: Mustang 65 reissue
I have one of the original 69 reissue Made In Japan Mustangs. They are well built guitars and sound great. Im not in love with the bridge (The original ones have the wrong size saddles they fixed this with the 65 reissue) but its really just a 30 dollar replacement. Other then that I think the original pickups sound great threw my AC30.

If it's cheap enough, buy it. I have a '04 CIJ '69 that has nothing wrong with it other than the "revolt yellow" finish.
Resale on these is horrendous for the first seller; new they just cost too close to what real Mustangs go for if you shop around.
