Human Gear Animato Schematic
Does anyone know how to obtain this? I saw somewhere there is a clone being made. I needs that schematic bros!

Yes but is that as marketable?
Going to research some more. Gotta be somewhere if there is a clone out there. Either that or the dude is lying about it being a clone.

Re: Human Gear Animato Schematic
Didn't want to start a new thread so I will bump this.
Save myself from typing heaps as today is frantic music wise for me. I got a hold of one and cloned it, yada yada yada. It's a tweaked treble booster going into a modified Big Muff Pi style circuit. Totally awesome sounding pedal and I thoroughly enjoyed working on it.
Here's a demo with my clone, with silicon transistors compared to the original.

Here's the schematic along with some documentation about how I degooped it if you would like to build one for yourself (strongly encouraged!)

Side note: I realise that in the video I have annotations that potentially go against the forum rules, admins, if you do have an issue with that, please let me know.

Yep, thank you.
I've been there too, looking after all the question being asked.
The interest it got far exceeded what I was expecting.

Re: Human Gear Animato Schematic
Two questions. Can you top mount the jacks and how much?

Re: Human Gear Animato Schematic
*post removed by myself as I am a numpty and missed the big red box with a specific rule I broke right away... fantastic start Adam*
I didn't end up mounting the jacks up top because they get a bit cramped in the 1590B boxes.
Happy to answer questions regarding any technical aspects of the pedal.

Hey man it's all good! Tom's a good guy!
Plus this pedal is so damn hard to get. I'll hit you up later on with questions about monies.

Re: Human Gear Animato Schematic
No problems at all.
I PM'd PumpkinPieces (thank you!) so I can reply with this because naturally people have been asking me everywhere for a pedal (genuinely thankful too!). I am selling a small run of clones for $200 AUD on my website if you are not the type that wants to or can build one: http://crowella.org/effects/ . The only differences electronically between my build and the original include the use of Silicon transistors instead of the Germanium pair as I found it gives more gain (helps with passive instruments) and less noise (also a tiny bit less warmth, there had to be a tradeoff somewhere). Also not including "that switch" because in both simulations and in person, the difference is so miniscule, it's practically redundant and it helps put it into a smaller enclosure comfortably.
So if you did want to build this but can't find those mojo germaniums, don't fret, drop in a 2N5087 and 2N5088, omit the switch and it's two resistors and there you have it. It's become less of a one trick pony and more useful overall the more I play with it. Rolling off the tone on your guitar or bass does drastically change the pedal's tone too as I wasn't expecting the pedal to have some transparency with the original signal. I'll have to try get some guitar demo's up soon, I can see it being nice for people who want an obnoxious lead sound on guitar.

Re: Human Gear Animato Schematic
boosting treble right before the low pass filter??? all the muff stages are coupled with 470n. I think it actually sounds great on bass with clean blend but totally meh on guitar. this pedal is basically the opposite of conventional wisdom of low pass clip low pass clip tone stack example pharaoh, muff etc... I think the topology would work great if you reworked the frequency response of each stage. for the switch I would suggest 200R or 0R for R18. R17 is not needed IMO. C11 could be slightly larger to make this pedal less strange.

Re: Human Gear Animato Schematic
Good luck with these cloning endeavour.
For me though, the gain structure and germanium sound is part of the tone, and thats where the mystique and "mojo" for this pedal resides.
I listened to the clips and didnt think they were close enough, so if I were gonna make one id be testing PNP and NPN Ge pairs.
