The Perfect Rat... Does it exist?
So I feel the Ideal Rat would be a nasty drive pedal, capable of low to mid gain overdrive, and cleans up pretty well. Pretty much a combination of these two vids http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toB-9lRW ... r_embedded and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAevu-yKjWI ... I mean does this rat exist?

I think the Rats really have to mesh well with your particular amp to get a great sound.
I don't think they always play nice with every amp. They can get a little harsh, especially with some SS amps.

I've never heard of this Rat tail. I've got an AC-15 so the rat should get along fine, but I really love the way Russell Marsden from Band of Skulls makes his Rat sound. He can go from heavy to light with it. You guys should definitely take a listen to anything off the first album.

A RAT witha tube amp can be very dynamic, but the RAT tone still somes through...which isn't a bad thing. I've got a Fuzzrocious modded vintage RI RAT. I believe at the time Ryan usedthe beavis audio mods. Needless to say it slays through an AC30....
