Hey guys. Been listening to a lot of Earth lately and I know a bit about what his rig is like. I just have no clue what that monster is. Does anyone know?

Very cool. Could it be an ibanez something or other? I know he was rockin' an iceman for a while back in the day.

Oh wow. Never thought we'd get to hear it from the man himself. Thanks Aen!
Out of curiosity (I swear I'm not trying to derail the thread), how did you meet him? Is he currently using any of your fine creations?
(By the by, saw Boris not too long ago, and Takeshi was destroying me with that Eau Claire through the Model T. Beautiful stuff!)
The teles are thinline with dimarzio rails in them too, right?

Re: Dylan Carlson Guitar
This is a translation (not the greatest) from a French website interview from 2007: (http://www.emorageimagazine.com/old/entrevues/earth)
"I have completely new and different equipment now. Gone are the Sunn amps and Marshall, BC Rich guitars and Paul Reed Smith. I have a more distinctive sound and a list of equipment pertaining thereto. I am a devoted fan of the Telecaster guitars, I have two. One of them is a Highway 1 Texas with a pickup model DiMarzio Fast Track T near the bridge (single coil with two blades that sounds like a double coil Humbucker). My other Telecaster is a Thinline reissue of a model 72 equipped with a Telecaster standard bridge and a Joe Barden single coil which also has two blades (unfortunately my favorite pickup "discontinued" since 2004). A Model A pickup Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P-90 is placed in the neck. My Texas Tele is equipped with a switch that allows you to place the windings DiMarzio pickups in series or in parallel. The Thinline, for its part, is equipped with a switch that can put out of phase when both pickups are wired or plugged into an upside."
Also, I've heard recently that he is using a Dwarfcraft ECT!

Seriously Aen. You know you're a badass when the heaviest bands on the planet are supplied with your weapons of mass destruction. Props.

I'd love to know about his amps. He's been crafting some nice tones lately.
But yeah, dig Earth.

I think his main amp is a Fender Twin or at least it was fairly recently.

Re: Dylan Carlson Guitar
There's a subtle vibrato that sounds very amp-like on a lot of the later, more "arid desert tones." Do Twins rock the vibrato effect?
Coma Angel has the sound I am talking about it. Almost sounds like the record is warping. In a good way.

The last US tour Dylan and Lori were playing through Deluxe Reverb Reissues. Like, Half-Twins.
BUt anyway, I got to meet Earth this summer. I contacted Earth's management about getting some gear in the Earth Arsenal. I made an ECT for Dylan, and we hung out before the show, and have been emailing back and forth since then.
When we saw him he was playing a tricked out strat.
