Haven't experimented with many different delays, but I have my Boss RV-3 for a few months now and I like it.. But I only use it when I want to make noise, or when I am emulating a Cello with my Bazz Fuss and a fully wet reverb^^

DISPATCH MASTER!!!!! It's awesome on bass! The reverb is sick too, whether with delay or by itself. Small, versatile, digital, true bypass, quiet, killer reverb, no oscillation.....all the things I want/need in a delay.

Re: yo bassists! what delay are you using?
I was using a Guyatone MD-3 with good results, but was able to snag an EDQ Disaster Transport Jr for about $100 and it is by far, a much warmer, superior sounding delay. Both pedals get some wild oscillation going with the feedback knob and for recording you can't go wrong with either, I just happen to like EDQ better. Unfortunately, in a band setting, both tend to get lost in the mix with a heavy band, so I am thinking about replacing the EDQ on my live board with an IE Nimbus reverb or a Dispatch Master.

If you want it for ambiance, check out the catalinbread montavillian echo.
I used to have one; check out this video at about 1:00.

EHX SMMwH works pretty well, the filter is nice for getting rid of high end (it's a bright delay) or putting on massive low cut so the delay signal sounds really different to the dry sound. Does decent reverb too, plus all kinds of weird sounds and (pretty basic) looping. DMM sounds kinda nice but it overloads and gets crazy distorted hilariously easily.

I miss my SMMWH so much most days. I'd get it and a headrush again one of these days.

Disaster Transport, Boss DD-5, and Akai E2. I had the Malekko 616, sounds great on guitars. I used it as more of a modulator/ambiance effect on bass, the delay would oscillate to quickly and the repeats would cut through that fantastically. The Disaster is similar enough that I could get convincing EHX DMM-like tones. I'd really like to try out the Memory Boy now that is in a smaller enclosure. However, the Disaster has a character of its own on the modulation. It's gorgeous sounding. I use the DD-5 for stuttering loops, great slapback, reverse, and pseudo-reverb sounds. Akai is great for tap delayss and just ridiculously long delays, and of course it makes for a great looper. Also a lot of great sounds in the M9.

I'm currently into the TC Nova Delay~ Extraordinarily Versatile, Stereo Outputs and 9 COUNT 'EM NINE pre-sets to easily toggle through.
That's was one of the main things for me, pre-programming the delays I need for a set in Sequence. what what~

TC Electronic Flashback. Realized that I wanted a pretty clear, but not too harsh/bright delay, as well as options like tap tempo, and the Flashback certainly delivered. That said, I do want to try a Dispatch Master...
