help me pick a drive pedal
selling the M9, which means all i have is a algal bloom and a boss tuner, which is hardly worthy of being called a pedalboard. anyways, i need a drive pedal. i'm playing an Ac15. i'm not really sure what kind of sound i'm going for, so i'd like a pretty versatile pedal that does the subtle stuff pretty well, but i'd have no problem cranking for a nice thick crunch. no klon recommendations unless you plan on giving me money to make the purchase.

Right now I have an Electro-Harmonix Germanium OD. It's great, fairly versatile(nothing insane), and some pretty cool voltage sag and bias controls that allow for some weird sputtery sounds.

Versatile = Dr. Scientist The Elements
Hotcake is a good choice with AC type amp.
I also like the Liquid Gain Hydra.

Re: help me pick a drive pedal
I think I've narrowed my search down to the Fairfield Circuitry Barbershop and the SS/BS Fuck OD. any comparisons between those two? i like the low gain thing, but as far as versatility and general awesomeness, which one should i go for?

I've never been the hugest fan of barbershop, the drive seems to just sit on top of your original tone. Some may call it awesome transparency, but I don't. I have a fuck and it's amazingly versatile.
