SSD or RRR

Post by Psyre »

I know these are both amazing pedals, but I have decided to get one or the others. I was wondering what you guys thought was...idk how to say it... better at what they are. I hate to say it like that because they are both amazing, and it's not even so much that I need a reverb or delay. I was just wondering in your experience which one you preferred.

Totally depends on what you are looking for. If you feel like you need a lot of tweak ability in reverb then the rrr might not be for you. If you feel like you would prefer a brighter delay then the sdd is not for you. Other than that its up to you...fwiw if you can grab a sdd online now while they're is still stock in some places that might be the better option because ryan is not making them anymore and there's no telling when he will start again. I think hes gonna redo the cosmichrous then then reverb before he looks at delay again so it might be a while.

SDDs sound amazing for sure but the RRR is hands down the best reverb I've heard, love mine. I fuss it come down to whether you want delay or verb.

Thanks for pondering the purchasing, Psyre!

I think personally I'd rather have a RRR over a SDD, just because I really like reverb. I think of reverb as an always on effect.

Glad to hear you're still digging yours, Mike, thanks again!

That's a cool one! We only made 4 or 6 like that, they were special made for Humbucker Music in Georgia in their store colours.

I also think you should get the RRR over the SDD, my RRR is pretty much an always on pedal too. In fact rather than turning it off, I've gotten pretty adept at turning the mix knob up and down with my toes for when I want more or less reverb. Everything sounds better with reverb, especially when the 'verb in question comes from the RRR. Hell, both of my amps have spring reverb, but I still prefer the RRR (although I do keep the reverb on fairly low on both my amps all the time too).

And to make the decision even easier for you, I bought that SDD. ;) Sorry for sniping it out from under you, but I just couldn't resist. If I decide that I don't need two delays on my board and I sell the SDD sometime down the road, I'll let you have first crack at it if you haven't tracked one down by then.

i'd say the SDD
the RRR is in steady distribution, you'll be able to keep getting em!
you'll want em both eventually anyways!
now posting as Forrrest.

Well actually after this week I will have my delays covered. I already have my vintage mxr green box and I am picking up a pat corrigan painted freakshow digilog. The oscilation switch was a big win over. Actually I still will want a SDD, but I think I may wait and see what he has planned for the future. In that case a RRR is what I'm picking up next, will be doing so in 2 weeks when my next check comes in.
