Peeping an Ibanez FL9

OK so I have an Ibanez FL9 that I have adjusted the trimpot on the inside so that when I have the Regen to 1ish it is a normal flange but as soon as I raise the Regen to 10 I get a really cool feedback which when I go from 8 to 3 I get a really cool dive bomb sound.
You can here it in our song here http://thevisiontheguilt.com/ATestimoni ... eslost.mp3 (right after the "solo" before bridge & at the end of the song). I usually do this live by bending over and turning the knob but I would love not to.

Can I add a Photoconductive Cell right where the Ibanez logo is and control the regen?
The only concern I have is if I have the regen knob at the regular 3 mark can I just use the Photoconductive Cell to raise it up and drop it down? Or would adding an on/off toggle switch work better?

The photocell woudl probably have a huge range of resistance, plus you'd have to duplicate the light conditions to duplicate your sound of choice. You could possibly put a jack in for an expression pedal, though. do you know the value of the pot you intend to turn without bending over?

I did see photocells that had different ratings so I planned on matching the rating. I do not know what the value is yet. Havent had time to take it apart and check it out. I was worried about the whole light issue as well. My biggest problem is I need to save space on my board and so having 4-6 expression pedals maybe not be a practical way.

I actually made a Expression Pedal selector (allows me to use 1 expression pedal for 2 different effects.) yesterday and it seemed to work great on both my DL4s which is the reason I made it but the only issue is those have memory and so as soon as one was selected the other would think it didnt have an expression pedal plugged in so it would go to whatever the delay time knob was set to. This might not be the same for something like a PS-2 or a SYB-3 or something. I will have to try out because if that works I'm going to make a multi expression pedal selector and run a cable with my instrument cable to a pot on my guitar which will allow me to control the pedal like an expression pedal. NO more bending over to adjust those knobs.
