Sansamp Oxford?

Post by Heatmonger »

Does anyone here have the oxford?

Love the orange tone  . Had the terror bass for awhile but I sold it.

Does this pedal do a good job emulating it? How nasty can the oxford get?

Can't seem to find any good clips(besides the official sansamp clips).. :?:

I have one. it has some nice sounds on its own, but it doesn't play well with my dirt pedals. and it's much louder than the blonde, so switching between them doesn't really work well. I don't use it as much as I thought I would.

I like it for bass, though.

You should also check out the Orange Peel and that other one... (blanking on the name, but one of the ILF builders makes it)
good deals are here.

You know, I feel the exact same way about my Leeds. I LURVE what it does to my signal on it's own, but when I try to run fuzz or any dirt above a light overdrive through it, it sounds like poo-poo. Maybe that's just something about those character series pedals.

That's really interesting. I used to run a totally direct, sansamp-based rig (a GT2 and a TriAC). I still have the GT2. Both of these *love* dirt pedals. I had the "British" pedal from the Character series for a while, and while it certainly did dirt sounds better than clean, it still took pedals pretty well when set clean.

I'm gonna jump the gun and point out how ridiculous getting the tone of an amp from a pedal is.

Because someone's got to, goddamn it.

Haha I see what you're saying...but not everyone can afford (or has the need) for a $2000 tube head, and it's been done pretty well before by Sansamp(VT Bass por ejemploO) ....So...Why not? :idk: This IS a forum DEDICATED to fuzz and other pedal based effects....why not a pedal based amp emulation :poke:

I have it for a a week and a half and have to agree that it doesnt stack well with other noiseboxes but it has its character.
It cannot sound as good as my rockerverb 50 but it gets that orangey sound of an or120! If you love the sound of early
sabbath or Zeppelin you can hit it no prob, but again it does add character to your tone (some may not like it) im still
getting used to it but have to say very very nice pedal, but still am urging for Catalinbread SCOD. just my 0.02$ )
... Orange ... The love of my life ... Hope my darlin doesnt read this ...

I'm liking mine a lot or bass fand it works well with my green big muff in front of it. It's taken over from the VTBass as my preamp of choice. I run it straight into a power amp or effects return of any other amp I may be using.
