Secret destroyer. Question....

Post by 9520575 »

Okay I have the secret destoyer. And playing with knobs what is each one. Its sounding great love it. But I really wish I knew what knobs are.

my best guess:
top three from left to right: Gain, gain, ?
Bottom two left to right: tone, starve

Edit, opened the back and looked....
 NOOB FAIL

So what's the secret here? Do I have that right?

I always thought mine was:
Volume Tone Gain
Gain Starve

But I really have no idea since it reacts completely differently every time I touch it. Interested to hear the actual layout...

Yeah, its tough because the knobs are so sensitive to the position of the knobs.

aren't the pots labeled inside on the pcb?? You could check the wires and tell what the pots are.

...and the tone knob - much like in the TGD - doesn't really work as a tone knob. I've always felt it's more like a stacking gain knob, or then it really is a splendidly fucked up bias to the same effect, making the horrible noise much to my delight. :animal:

They're all gain knobs, technically, but in the "standard" destroyer construction the tone knob does change your tone from bassy-trebly. But usually the S.Destroyers go Volume Gain Starve on top and Tone "X" on the bottom.

"x" I'll buy that. Regardless I really enjoy this pedal. Looks and sound wise. Thanks for making it. I've been playing it non stop.
