Who is building Harmonic Percolator clones out there?

Post by dorfmeister »

I've seen the Fredric Effects version.

Saw a Montgomery Appliances version in another thread.

Barge Concepts used to build one but I think they are out of business now.

Who else builds them? Which ones have you liked best? Are there any mods to the circuit that you think improves it?

The Jimmy Behan HP clone sure looks pretty.

I recommend Frederic Effects. Great guy too from over yonder in shortscale.org lands. I have his Muff Fuzz clone, awesome pedal.

Must say that even though that is his trademark pedal (I would say at least) I have yet to play one.

Still loving my Montgomery Appliances Harmonic Dominator. That and the Frederic give you the option to lift the clipping diodes, which is really useful--makes for nice low gain and sparkling dirty boost toanz. Edit: Looks like the Jimmy Behan does, too.

OT, but I really like the range of the Jimmy Behan lineup--most of the classix, and quite a few of the lost gems, too.

I like his sense of style.

The original Percolator strikes me as a rather ugly thing.

Also, I am almost certain that MadeByMike has made Percolators before, too. I can't recommend his work enough.

I know that Jimmy at Baddy One Shoe makes a Percolator clone, the Hot Cup-o-Fuzz. http://baddyoneshoe.blogspot.com/2010/0 ... asses.html

I don't have any experience with that pedal, but the Honeycomb OD I have on my board is fantastic.
