Bassist needs overdrive

Post by Snowblind »

Hey so the bassist in my band is looking for a good OD to stack with fuzz as well as just use by its self. Relatively cheap as in $100 or below if possible. As far as sound wise, something that is good for some stoner rock but can cover a lot of ranges. At the moment he only uses a Little Big Muff for fuzz, but I did introduced him to some of the local builders and he's gonna start saving for a Eau Claire Thunder after he gets a overdrive. :) All help is appreciated. Thanks

I liked my pork loin when I had it. It has a clean blend so you won't lose the low end. I've since stopped using overdrive on bass.

The Dwarfcraft Internet sounds great on bass, kbithecrowing did a demo for my blog:

Full review on my blog as well. Stacks with fuzz quite well :thumb:

+1 on this - the And Aardvarks! has three modes: one that's straight overdrive that loses a little bit of lows (but is super crunchy), one that's a pure clean boost, and one that crunches the high frequencies, but lets the lows shine through. So, so, so good. And it stacks wonderfully with other pedals - I was inspired by Bronzetalon to put mine AFTER fuzz, and haven't changed that setup since.
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.
