Yeah, I picked up the album the other day.
I have to say, I was initially taken aback by the difference between IaOoYaL and Old Wounds.
I think I've listened to it at least twenty times, and I absolutely love it.

Hey! Let's talk about serious thing. We're gonna talk about guitar, dude.

I found Old Wounds had a good sound, but nothing to captivate my interest beyond a few spins...... I feel like I'll be "spinning it" to the used CD store within a year so I'll pass on this one......

Fuck, I LOVE Old Wounds, haven't heard the new one yet, need to pick it up asap. I saw Young Widows open a show back in 2007 and I had no idea who they were or what was in store. Needless to say, I was floored, their live show is quite the experience! I've been sure to catch them whenever possible, ever since.

Old Wounds is seriously one of my favorite albums, so this new one kinda made me feel funny. Not sure how to feel about it yet.

They have a bunch of US tour dates posted. St. Louis is being skipped, of course, this city blows! Off to KC I suppose...

So that's where Holy Schnikes's head came from.

Digging this. Thanks for sharing it! :animal:

Will try to catch them in Milwaukee in May. :thumb:

Edit: I guess I gotta buy the MP3's from Amazon, because these guys don't have a Bandcamp page or similar to sell digital downloads. That's too bad; I'd rather the money went right to them.

Evan Patterson used a tele, Sunn Head (think he's got a second amp going too, 5150 maybe) and a big ass backline of Emperor columns, some with speakers, some with lights. Looks fuckin' killer live. I've heard he had a Verellen too, and I've seen an Emperor Prototype recently (or maybe it's just a shell they built for a different amp?)

Nick Thieneman used a Gibson RD? and a First Act, Delgada maybe. Not sure on amps but he also has an Emperor backline.

Pedals consisted of mainly Boss, Line 6 DL4s, and Akai HR for looping. Few others up there I can't remember. Here's some links that discuss gear though.

They are really are sweet, sound absolutely huge and look super sexy! Pretty affordable considering the custom nature and all, not terrible at least.

Yep! And I'm close enough to pick it up in person, tell them how much I love them, and try to peek over their shoulder for any amps they might be prototyping inside.. :thumb:
