Kinda worth it just for particle verb

...but my favorite sounds from the m9/13/podHD are all stacked effects so it's kinda useless to me

I've been really looking into multi-effects to use in the loop of my DD3, but I really don't want to spend this much on one. I'm thinking maybe a Zoom zomething? I don't want a pre-amp or gain. Something like an MM4 but smaller and cheaper.

If you already have a bunch of pedals that you like, and you like the idea of having some of the Line 6 stuff at your feet, this may be a cool buy. But, if there is any chance you would want to use more than 1 effect on the M5 at once, than I would go with the M9. Plus there's no looper, and I don't know how much of a pain it would be to scroll through your presets.

On a side note, with this release I wonder if they're planning on releasing a firmware update with added effects in the future. :?: I could use a new reason to tinker around with my M9 again.

What's so cool about these, anyways? Multieffects have traditionally been crap.

well essentially all i bought it for is to use it as a comp for my rick then an eq for my jazzy
then reverbs from time to time when i feel like being a shoegazer
it would work for some that only need to use one at a time, other then that if u wanted one you would go for an m9 or m13

Particle Verb is just the Eno delay-feedback-upoctave-reverb thing, right? So if I have a Lexicon that'll do that, is there any other killer algorithm to care about?
