I use a DOD EQ pedal as a boost for my solos it's nifty and nice to my fuzzes. I almost bought a '72 MXR 6 band EQ, one of my friends was selling it and he would've given it tom me for $35 or something but I bought a guitar instead.
EQ20 for my acoustics -- need it to go from one to the other, so having the presets are great Haven't really tried EQ on my electric boards though. Might give it a shot, I've got an MXR kicking around somewhere.
Good deals done with all these guys Canada, we put the "u" in satire
I've had a "sniper"-modded Boss EQ7 for years. With my current amp I actually leave it off, since my Ampeg turns out to be an amazing CLEAN TONEZ machine that I'd rather dial in on its own EQ knobs. The EQ7, by comparison, with some freq-cutting to eliminate background noise, sounds boxy and boosts too much, even with a tiny adjustment.

Searching for that new sound.
If you can read this, then I'm back?
THD Quintet. Passive tone-shaping that is really handy in front of Fuzz. I think they go for $150-ish. If mine wasn't $40, knowing how handy it is, I'd DIY one. There's similar inductor-based circuits floating around.

Would it make sense to put either a 5 or 10-band EQ at the end of your chain just before your amp(maybe a noise gate in between) if you wanted to have more EQ control that just the highs and lows on the amp(I have a vox)?

I use to use them back when you had a hard time getting a hold of dirt pedals that worked well for the lowz or info about them so EQ pedals really helped out... I have a old boss perimetric one and use to have the matching graphic [they were brown and gold...] which had a flacky power jack so I traded it... These days I use filters for shaping and my amp has a graphic so...

Probably a seven band eq, the more bands you have the smaller the spectrum each band has, so six or seven is really best, unless you found one of those MXR 10 bands used for a good price. I'de get either a boss 7 band Eq, or a MXR 6 band eq.

mmmmkay, that's what I was thinking. I just couldn't remember how many bands the cheaper MXRs had. I think I'm going to get one of those and a noise gate and velcro the two of them to the top of my amp. I don't think I'll need them on my board if I plan to always have them on
No to mention there isn't any room on my little board anymore.

I use The Cleanness, perfect in my setup. Pretty simple with gain, master vol, and 3 band EQ but I can dial it in quick and it sounds great. Never realized I'd bond with an EQ/boost so tightly.
