Blunderbuss - it's good.

Post by StopReferencing »

I realize there's an entire sub-forum for this shit,

but man, the Blunderbuss is fucking cool sounding. I'm really into some of the extreme settings - with the fuzz and pre all the way up (and with the tone backed off a bit, if you please), you get that broken(?)/fuzz-running-into-another-fuzz sound, almost like you're listening to a Times New Viking record or something. Dialing in the focus knob and easing back the fuzz yields toanz more in the "normal" modern muff realm. The last time I extensively used a Musket, it was the Musket side of a Dual Fuzz (not a Twosome), which I hear was kind of a version 1.5 Musket - the tweaker knobs on the Blunderbuss (i.e. mids and focus) are, IMO, significantly more responsive than their respective doppelgangers on the Dual Fuzz. Don't know if that's a V.2 vs. V.1.5 thing or a unit-to-unit thing.

I wasn't really sure what to expect; I just liked that there was this new Musket variant with more output available, figured I'd give 'er a whirl. Very pleasantly surprised. This and a Mantra would make a great dirt lineup on any board, IMO - kudos to Kyle.

I also tried running it at 18v - sounded like complete shit. So, yeah - don't do that.
