Merkin demo
Not sure if I covered all the bases.. after I said I would play with the vol knob I just changed my mind and cranked it when I moved to the neck pickup.
Very cool fuzz when powered, but I think it needs a carbon battery.
I know I kind of suck.. Kind of a bonehead demo.. just wanted to keep it simple though for a few tones though.
cheers

Nice, I might build something similar up for myself.

Re: Merkin demo
Good stuff. I've been tempted to get a Merkin fuzz but I already have a Land of the Rising Fuzzz Shin Ei clone and I don't think there would be much overlap in terms of tone since the Merkin is based on the Fuzzrite, which (I think) was the American take on the Shin Ei.
Having said that, The Merkin's got a nice "bouncy" thickness to it underneath the little bits where it borders on an octave fuzz which is pretty cool.

Well, I am re-wiring it, because I only had log-pots, but that doesn't work for the pedal.. It is a 3-knobber by the way^^

I'm digging this things tone! Considering picking one up someday in the near future, anyone played it at 18 volts?

Re: Merkin demo
Just tried the Merkin with a carbon zinc 9v and it's a different beast. Much more mellow and easy to control.
Sweet.
