Not very, here is a link for how to add a switch to do just that:

You can also just connect the point marked in the schematic as "in" and the out after the pot with a SPDT/SPST switch. Does exactly the same.

Very simple, I did it on my NYC reissue and the hardest part was drilling a hole for the switch.

this may be a dumb question....but do I have to buy wire or is there something I must de-solder and use the wire from the original muff? If I need wire what should I get?

You'll need your own wire. 22 or 24 gauge stranded wire should work fine. You can get it, and the DPDT switch that you'll need at Radio Shack for under $5 or, if you have any old electronics laying around you could probably rob some wire from them. The hardest part of the mod will be drilling the enclosure for the switch. Use a sharp bit that is designed for metal and a drop or two of oil (cooking oil will work) may help as well.

Ok....say I have a few pedals that do the non-modded BMP thing. Maybe I just want to totally do away with the tone stack on this Muff. How would I go about doing that?

Run a wire from the collector of Q3 to the center lug of the tone pot.
There are two 22K resistors. Clip them.
That will bypass the tone stack and eliminate any possible interaction from its circuitry.

Ok....so I went for the switchable option. Such a cheap and fast mod that yields such awesome results. Thanks for all the help. I chose to put the switch on the backside and not the top and it looks like it has always been there. Drilling was the hardest part but I got it done. I also bought some huge, black MXR style knobies for it. Looks so damn menacing now.
I will post a pic later on!

Shitty cellphone pic but you get the idea! I put the toggle on the backside. I lke it better there. I also love the look of the mini toggles with those little rubber tips but my radioshack did not have any so I used red heat shrink tube and made my own(kinda). Hahaha. Love these knobs!
