El Cheapo Paint Ideas For Pedals?

Hi hi again.

Any really simple paint suggestions for pedals? I've sanded mine down, and I was just wanting to put like an easy silver sparkly touch up on it... even something as simple as a good nail polish. I wanna just slap an easy topping on the face of the pedal... real simple. I'd like it to remain as permanent as possible, so I don't know if like a craft store paint or something would work the best or like what I don't know I've never done this YYAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH???

Just allow a solid 24 hrs b/w coats if you don't have a spare toaster oven to bake it in (30 mins at 150). Do not use the oven for cooking food!
Don't rush it!

You have a better chance of resale with a non-crappy paintjob.

Agreed. I use a primer, different spray paints, bake it in the toaster oven, then mount the guts. It turns out better when you are patient and when you bake between multiple layers. Use a really low setting like 175. Ive started oven fires at temps above 200. You can see a bunch of my paint jobs at:

Baking it is just a way to get the clear coat dry faster, right? It doesn't change it in any other way?

I've heard it can burn up your label, if you used one. Keep that in mind, I guess.

I'd recommend automotive touch-up paint, like Duplicolor. Other brands make it as well. Most of those colors also have a bit of clear mixed in, so you can just shoot one or two coats and still end up with a semi-gloss finish without having to dick around with a standalone clear coat.

I have a toaster oven dedicated to enclosures. You can easily do a couple color coats and a couple clear coats and have it dry within a few hours if you are diligent. Just keep the heat really low and make sure you have adequate ventilation.
