Resistor for LED Question
Can you use another resistor value aside from 2.2k to add an LED?

Re: Resistor for LED Question
Absolutely. A lower value resistor will make the LED brighter, and a higher value resistor will make it more dim.

Re: Resistor for LED Question
Ok, so using a 1k resistor, or 2 1k resistors word work fine as well?

Re: Resistor for LED Question
with newer "water clear", you can use as low as 100 ohms, really (but the resistor will get reallllly hot, and the LEDs life will prolly be shorter). 220 ohms seems about ideal for max brightness, but, again, might push the LED a bit.
I use 1K on everything just to be on the safe side, and everything's always plenty bright. Those higher values are for older style LEDs that can't handle the power. Because they're pussies.

I use higher values for water-clear LEDs, because they are too damn bright. I use 12K or even 18K, and they are still plenty bright. At 1K, they are like laser-pointer blinding tools.

They really can be if catch them at the right angle.I typically use 1k-5.1k, for all types. I seem to have a lot in those values, conveniently.

It sounds like you have already got you answer but this http://ledcalculator.net/ is a pretty cool link nonetheless.

Re: Resistor for LED Question
What would be the combo for the brightest LED I could ever get. (but still have everything be piratical in a pedal)
I want to cut in designs and have the light shining through the cracks. multiple LEDs?

Just go with 1k and keep it safe. Plenty bright.

100 ohm half watt resistor (1/4 gets hot) with a white LED.
The LED might not last that long, but it'll be bright as hell! 220 ohms is almost as bright, and it doesn't get hot.
1K is plenty bright, though. 'tis what I always use.
