NAD OR80 OD
Hey all,
Got this amp from Tennessee through Craigslist. Contacted the shipper, gave him my story and he agreed to ship Saturday, received the amp today (Wednesday).
I'd previously been playing through Fenders, Music Mans and Soundcity's. I must say this amp certainly has the feel I'm looking for but I'm not blown away. Certainly not $1,100 blown away. It's got GT preamp valves and EHX EL34 power tubes. Now, I was thinking of either going to KT77 or the 6CA7 route, JJ, of course.
I was even thinking about dropping four of them in there so I can actually run it at 4 ohms and get a little more headroom out of it (based on what I've been reading, my assumption is correct here, right?)
And, in regards to the knobs and where they stop, some of mine (F.A.C in particular) seem to spin around forever. And, in certain positions, no sound comes out...Again, I'm assuming this is normal. Volume turns about 1-2 more notches than the place it's supposed to stop.
The EQ is incredibly interactive, something I'm not entirely used to.
Anything else I should be looking for? The sneaky JL is there, too.
Cheers!
Pics and a clip up tomorrow.

Turn it up. Way up. Get the right 4x12.
Damn those guts are less complicated than the BYOC pedal I'm assembling. I fail.

I saw this picture of Hendrix, all he used was a wah.... And not even the Jim Dunlop Jimi Hedrix wah, just some old thing.....

I'm a 2x12 guy. I played it through a 4x12 and it definitely seemed to come to life a lot more, though.
