Same thing with Lightning Bolt. Similar instrumentation, similar corner of the overall music world, totally different approach.

I always felt that DFA1979 were slightly lacklustre compared to lightning bolt, and the comparison was always there in the back of my head when I first heard them

LB is a big influence on Mecha Shiva. We aren't as fast (especially in the drum aspect) and we are improv oriented (LB arrangements FTW) but the influence is there.
DFA1979 not so much,...
The only problem with LB is I can't listen to it when there are other people around,....they are usually like,...WHATTHEFUCKISTHISSHIT.
That said I'm going to go,....uh,....legally download the DFA discog right,..............now.

I've only been exposed to a few DFA songs via youtube spams,...that said I've been exposed to a lot of LB,...I like LB. "We're not classic rock" "I know".
