Russian Big Muff Problem

Post by nieh »

I was playing today and I had my NYC BMP on. Whenever I paused it was just the usual BM noise. Then another time there was this really fast repeated thumping too. Any time I have a dirt pedal after the Russian I get the same really fast thumping. When the dirts are before it, nothing, after it thumping. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

:idk:

Is the thumping like"Whump, Whump" or "Puh, Puh". It might just be the noise of both pedals meshing together.

The thing is, only one pedal is on though. I think its the russians lack of true bypass..

Yep - get that thing TB'd. It's not too hard, and there's walkthroughs on how to do it. A 3PDT is cheap, and it's a good learning experience. :thumb:

Yeah, true bypass ought to fix that. The Muff circuit sees your input signal and rocks it out, regardless of whether the output is taken from the tail end of the circuit or it's in bypass and directly linked to the input jack.
