Filter Fuzz recommendations?

So I've been loving my 4Eyes Fuzz and I have an ambient/drone band that relies exclusively on shaping feedback with the filter and fuzz of it. I thought it might be nice to have options and am since looking for some other fuzz that might be capable of similar things.

So far I've found:

Mid-Fi Peace Gun
Stone Deaf PDF-1
Moody Sounds Vibes
SS/BS 4545

Any experience with any of these? Any other recommendations?

I haven't tried it with guitar, but with bass it is 100% - filter-y, ring-mod-y, crazy weirdness. And perfect for drones because you will absolutely want to tweak the knobs manually on the fly.

And I know that I'm Mr. Broken Record Man when it comes to this, but the Gnomeratron VTF (built by our own McSpunckle) can get very filter-y indeed between its octave switch, tone knob, tone switch and gate control. Note: the Gnomedrone composition is actually 6 layered tracks of Gnomeratron - if you're interested in hearing just one so you can really pick out the filter-y modulation-y stuff that's native to the pedal, I could certainly post that as well.

It's more of a synth-fuzz than a filtered fuzz (although there is some overlap, I guess) you could try the Subdecay Noisebox
Also, the Blackbox Ultraviolet would be another good option
(haven't used one in ages..but when I used one on bass it was pretty sweet, the circuit was sorta reminiscent of the four-eyes, but not as tweakable)

My favorite - by far - is the Squarewave Parade MoleS20r. It's based on the filter section of the Korg MS-20 synth and has an added distortion gain stage, CV and EXP inputs and is switchable between HP/BP/LP filtering. It's seriously seriously badass. (And unfortunately out of poduction.)

Isn't the Korg Monotron the filter from the MS-20?

Does the 4efuzz oscillate? The 4545 is CRAZY! It's really capable of some off the wall sounds, with delay you can easily cop some noisy droney guitar work.

Running it into the montreal assembly WSOU gives crazy big robot type sounds.

I also loved the subdecay noisebox. The Volume pot on your guitar basically controlled how hard you had to strum to get the filter to sweep. Andwhen you rolled it back it got more gated. Awesome pedal, and when I can I'd like to get another one. AFAIK it's an ugly face.

many thanks to you guys. From what I read about it the Ultraviolet might be just the right thing. I'll definitely have to check that out a little further. Seems to be the most usable for my purpose until now.

The Squarewave is probably an awesome piece of gear but not really what I'm looking for. The Orbit seems a little too uncontrollable.

The 4Eyes does not oscillate. I'm not really looking for oscillation though that might be useful. Is the 4545 controllable? Can I tune the filter f ex?

The frequency LSD seems to do a kind of filter sweepy thing by itself. You can get him to add an expression input to control the color knob too.

Fuzzhugger Phantom Arcade. Glitches,filters,gates out in tandem with its filter-y capabilities. I've found that pick attack is a factor,both fretting it sort of shapes the filteriness/activates the gate,too.

Ah, yes, that has been on my list for a while too. What does the color knob do, exactly?

Basically I am looking for something that I can sweep manually. Doesn't need to be in treadle form but there are several Fuzz/Wah things out there too, right?

Anything that responds to picking dynamics would be wasted because in this band I just put the guitar in front of the amp and don't touch it again.

The track is just a single high bass guitar E, going through an EHX Freeze, and then into the Gnomeratron: Passive Fender Jazz Bass > EHX Freeze > Gnomeratron > Garagband. That's it! It gets a bit piercing. I didn't try to do too radical of a tone sweep - I was mostly focusing on the high end of things since this was part of full composition. If nothing else though, it should give you a taste of how the Gnome can get almost modulation-y.

If it's for a drone project, have you thought about the Flight Of Harmony Plague Bearer? Might be overkill a little bit, but that thing is a bottomless pit of wonders.
