Rickenbacker
So I found a 1978 4001 today for $1100 I dont have the $ but this is hard to pass up. Im thinking about trading in my bassman 300 and or doing a great pedal sell off for it. I played it for about 2 hours this morning and I actually felt like a better bass player. Im still thinking about it I just needed to get it out and off my chest.

I dont think I can live without a rick for much longer. When I got home and picked up my ibanez it felt and played like a toy

Re: Rickenbacker
Depends on the Ibanez
I would not trade my main bass of over 17 years [SR505] for a RIC. I like Rics and have played a few that were THE SHIT but that bass holds it own against most basses to me. Really I want a fretless one RIC though, first RIC I ever played [same day I got my 505] was this ugly pinkburst fretless that just sounded godly. But if I pay the RIC price IT HAS TO BE BLUE

I'd sell anythign easily reubtainable, at a later date. Also borrow money from your buddies and pay it off with free studio time and stuff like that.

Sorry to post twice, but you should ask if you can set up some sort of payement plan and pay it off monthly.

Yeah me too... I had the chance to get a robin's egg blue mustang bass for under $500 and I didn't want to drive up to Seattle that week

+1 and probably not the only one, that's the VALUE PRICE of the year!
I've seen 4001 bodies alone sell for 800 $US (the prices for genuine Rick parts have gone fucking paranormal). So buy NOW refund tomorrow by selling stuff. Just admit it - the furniture was in the way when cleaning the house and it didn't match the carpet anyway. Besides, it's perfectly fine to sleep on the floor, we have just been spoiled with beds and stuff here in the Western world.
