When I had my AVRI Jazzmaster in C# standard I had 14s on it, 25.5 scale, so I'm sure you could go to 12's and still be nice and loose.

i'd go with 12s. and if its too tight, you can always go lower.

I've used d'addarios a lot it seems like, mostly cause they are pretty good and cheap. Like them more than ernie balls, which as you said get dull and break easy. Ghs boomers are a pretty good alternative for EB's. Keep in mind this is from a bass perspective.

i use dr or ehx strings! :joy:

well, i use daddarios on the 10 string as dr or ehx dont do electric 12 string sets... :grumpy:
