Vintage 1970's Ampeg GT-10 solid state guitar amp in need of repair. I bought it used to keep in my garage as a practice amp. It had buzzing which I thought was due to it having a 2-prong cable and old caps. I replaced the cable with a 3-prong and recapped the amp. I was still having problems and upon further inspection I noticed one of the two power transistors had failed. I was able to removed the transistor, but damaged the PCB trace slightly getting it out. I was able to find a replacement transistor online, but the few shops that carried them had a $200-500 minimum order...
The Cabinet is in good condition apart from some faded punk rock symbols the previous owner drew as a youngster and some discoloring on the grill cloth. Comes with the stock 10" speaker, and reverb tank. Before I took it apart I had the chance to test out the speaker and reverb and they are both functioning.
I am not an amp tech, and have little amp knowledge, but I believe it would be a pretty easy fix for someone who has better access to parts. I do not have the time nor resources to try to locate the part, so I am selling it as is in a project form. - $50
I found this guy's thread on TDPRI and did my research before I had him bring it by.
I printed out a data sheet for a bunch of those RCA power transistors, and there's a surplus electronics shop about 20 minutes away that has a lot of them. I should have it running very soon!

The reverb driver was the transistor that had been yanked out, literally. I replaced it with one from the same RCA series, just a little more powerful (potentially). There was some white noise in the background that was only noticeable when not playing, so I went ahead and swapped the other one out (the one with the square heat sink). The amp is now louder, a little bit cleaner when dimed but still nicely saturated, and very quiet in terms of noise.
