DIY is addicting!

Post by randel_07 »

i started putting together clones this summer
and i have to say that i have become utterly addicted to making pedals myself.
i have severely underestimated how addicting it could be.

it's just so ridiculous that i can build ~5 pedals for the price i would averagely pay for a pedal.
plus, it turns out, i'm actually pretty good at soldering!

i'll post pics of projects i've completed soon!

there's nothing more fun than building pedals. once you pass some learning curves and realize that you can create some real beasts, it gets worse. I can see the addiction as being a long one.

I've spent about $500 this week on parts.

Do I have a problem?

Component Acquisition Syndrome?

I don't really CAS when ordering online. Stick me in a surplus/vintage electronics supply shop and I geek out hardcore, though. I recently found a ridiculous stockpile of germanium transistors that I'm planning to sort through soon with the blessing of the shop owner.

I've been known to flip through the Mouser catalogue looking for shit I didn't know existed and trying to figure out how I can use it.

Help me.

How can I help? You take one section of the catalog, I'll take another?
